New Year Giveaway: official rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID IN QUEBEC AND WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. Sponsor

The EasyClippers New Year Giveaway (the "Giveaway") is run by NEOTECH Inc., doing business as EasyClippers, #5 2550 Gordon Ave, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia V3C 2K4, Canada (the "Sponsor").

2. Who can enter

The Giveaway is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, and of Canada except the Province of Quebec, who are at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority in their state, province or territory of residence when they enter. Employees, officers and directors of the Sponsor, and the members of their immediate families and households, cannot enter. The Giveaway is void in Quebec, outside the United States and Canada, and wherever it is prohibited or restricted by law.

3. Entry period

The Giveaway starts November 6, 2026 at 12:00:00 AM ET and ends December 31, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM ET (the "Entry Period"). ET means Eastern Time. The Sponsor's server clock is the official clock of the Giveaway.

4. How to enter

During the Entry Period: (a) create a free EasyClippers account at easyclippers.com, or sign in to an account you already have; (b) confirm the account's email address; and (c) go to easyclippers.com/giveaway, confirm where you live and that you meet the age requirement, accept these Official Rules and press Enter. Your entry number is shown on the page once you have entered.

No payment and no payment details are needed to create an account or to enter. Liking, following, commenting on or sharing any post is never required, gives no extra entries and does not change anyone's chances.

Limit: one (1) entry per person and one per account. Entries made with more than one account, or by any automated means, script or bot, are void, and the Sponsor may disqualify every entry of a person it believes made them. An entry belongs to the holder of the email address of the account that made it.

5. Prizes

There are 3 prizes. Each prize is EasyClippers Starter for 12 months: the EasyClippers Starter plan, free of charge for 12 months from the day the prize is given, with the credits the Starter plan includes each month. The approximate retail value of each prize is US$299, the yearly price of the Starter plan, and of all prizes together US$897. A winner who already pays for an EasyClippers plan when the prize is given receives instead a discount of up to US$299 on that plan. Prizes have no cash value and cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash, and their use is subject to the EasyClippers Terms of service. If a prize becomes unavailable before it is given, the Sponsor may replace it with a prize of equal or greater value. Any part of a prize that a winner does not use is forfeited. A person can win only one prize.

A prize is the use of the EasyClippers service as the Sponsor offers it, for as long as the Sponsor offers it, up to 12 months. During that time the Starter plan has the features, credits and limits the Sponsor gives paying Starter members at the time, which can change under the Terms of service. If the Sponsor stops offering the Starter plan, it may move the winner to the closest plan it offers. A prize ends early, and no refund, cash, substitute prize or other compensation is owed for the unused part, if the EasyClippers service stops operating, if the Sponsor winds up or dissolves its business, or if the winner's account is closed for breaking the Terms of service.

6. The draw

The potential winners are selected at random from all eligible entries, January 1, 2027 at 12:00:00 AM ET, by the Sponsor's software, as follows. All eligible entries from the United States and Canada are drawn together.

When the Entry Period ends, the list of the entry numbers of all eligible entries is frozen. Written one per line in sorted order, the list's SHA-256 hash is its fingerprint. The fingerprint is shown on easyclippers.com/giveaway during the Entry Period, and the frozen list is published at easyclippers.com/giveaway/entries.txt.
The random value is the randomness of round 35325412 of the drand "quicknet" public randomness beacon run by the League of Entropy (chain 52db9ba70e0cc0f6eaf7803dd07447a1f5477735fd3f661792ba94600c84e971), the first round published at or after the time of the draw, available at https://api.drand.sh/52db9ba70e0cc0f6eaf7803dd07447a1f5477735fd3f661792ba94600c84e971/public/35325412. No one, the Sponsor included, can know it before it is published.
The seed is the SHA-256 hash of that randomness followed by the list's fingerprint, both taken as bytes. Each entry number is scored with HMAC-SHA256 keyed with the seed, and the entries are ranked by score, lowest first. The first 3 eligible entries in the ranking are the potential winners, and the entries after them are alternates, in order.

Anyone can repeat the draw from the published list and the drand round. The Sponsor publishes the round, its randomness, the seed and the results on easyclippers.com/giveaway.

If the drand beacon has not published that round within 7 days after the time of the draw, the Sponsor makes the draw the same way with another public source of randomness that no one could know in advance, and publishes which one it used.

7. Odds

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received, and every eligible entry has the same chance. For example, if 1,000 eligible entries are received, each entry has a 3 in 1,000 chance of being selected as a potential winner.

8. Winners

Potential winners are told by email, at the address of their account at the time of the draw, and on easyclippers.com/giveaway when they are signed in. To be declared a winner, a potential winner must, within 14 days of the draw, sign in to their account and, on easyclippers.com/giveaway: (a) confirm their place of residence and that they meet the age requirement; (b) correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without assistance of any kind, with 2 attempts; and (c) accept these Official Rules, including the release in section 10 and the limits in section 13. The Sponsor may also ask a potential winner to sign a declaration of eligibility and release, and to show identification.

A potential winner who does not do this in time, cannot be reached, answers the question wrongly on every attempt, is found ineligible or does not comply with these Official Rules is disqualified and forfeits the prize, and the next alternate in the ranking becomes a potential winner under the same conditions. The Sponsor may publish each winner's first name and last initial (or channel name) and their state, province or territory.

9. Conditions

By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules and to the Sponsor's decisions, which are final on every matter about the Giveaway. The Sponsor may disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process or the Giveaway, acts in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike way, or breaks these Official Rules or the EasyClippers Terms of service. If the Giveaway cannot run as planned because of a computer virus, bug, tampering, fraud, technical failure, the failure of a service the Giveaway relies on, an order of a court or government authority, a natural disaster, war, epidemic or labour dispute, the EasyClippers service ceasing to operate, or any other cause beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control, the Sponsor may, subject to applicable law, cancel, end, change or suspend the Giveaway. If it cancels or ends the Giveaway early and the prizes can still be given, it selects the winners at random, as in section 6, from the eligible entries received before that action. The Sponsor posts any such action on easyclippers.com/giveaway.

The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete or misdirected entries or emails, for any failure of a network, server, device or software, or for typographical, printing, software or human errors in the Giveaway's materials, website, emails or ads. A message or page that says by mistake that someone won does not make them a winner: only a potential winner who completes section 8 wins, and the Sponsor never awards more than 3 prizes.

The Sponsor may correct errors in these Official Rules and change them to make them clearer or to comply with the law, but never in a way that lowers the number or value of the prizes or the chances of an eligible entry. Changes are posted on this page with the date of the update.

10. Release

By entering, each entrant releases and holds harmless the Sponsor and its officers, directors, employees and agents, as well as Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram) and the operators of TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch and Kick, from any liability, loss or damage arising from entering the Giveaway, from accepting, using or misusing a prize, or from the EasyClippers service being interrupted, changed or discontinued. This Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google, X, Twitch or Kick. Questions and complaints about the Giveaway go to the Sponsor, not to those platforms.

11. Your information

The Sponsor uses the information of your account and your entry only to run the Giveaway, as described in its Privacy policy. To catch more than one entry per person, the Sponsor keeps a salted hash of the connection and browser each entry was made from, never the address itself.

12. Taxes

Winners are responsible for any taxes on their prize.

13. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows: (a) the Sponsor's total liability to any person for anything related to the Giveaway or a prize is limited to US$299, the approximate retail value of one prize; (b) the Sponsor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, earnings, views, data or opportunities, even if told they were possible; and (c) a prize, like the rest of the EasyClippers service, is provided "as is" and "as available", without any promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, as the Terms of service say.

The Sponsor alone runs the Giveaway and provides the prizes. No shareholder, director, officer, employee or agent of the Sponsor is personally responsible for any prize or for any obligation under these Official Rules.

Nothing in these Official Rules limits or excludes any liability or right that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to an entrant.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The Giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial, territorial and local laws.

To the extent the law allows, every dispute about the Giveaway or a prize is resolved individually, never as part of a class or representative action, in the courts of British Columbia. If any part of these Official Rules is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If the Sponsor sells or transfers the EasyClippers business, it may transfer the Giveaway and the prizes to the buyer, who then takes the Sponsor's place. The Sponsor reserves all rights not expressly given in these Official Rules, and not enforcing any part of them is not a waiver of it.

15. Winners list

The winners are listed on easyclippers.com/giveaway after the draw. You can also ask for the list at support@easyclippers.com until March 31, 2027.
